Xiaomi vừa công bố những bước tiến quan trọng trong chiến lược phát triển chip và hợp tác với Qualcomm. Công ty này xác nhận sẽ ra mắt chip XRING 01 tự phát triển và sử dụng trong hai thiết bị mới: Xiaomi 15S Pro và Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra. Cả hai sản phẩm này sẽ được công bố vào ngày 22 tháng 5.
Theo bài đăng trên Weibo của CEO Xiaomi Lei Jun, chip XRING 01 đã đi vào sản xuất hàng loạt và được chế tạo trên tiến trình 3nm tiên tiến. Đây là bước tiến lớn của Xiaomi trong việc tự chủ công nghệ chip, mở ra câu hỏi về việc công ty sẽ cân bằng như thế nào giữa chip tự phát triển và chip Snapdragon của Qualcomm, vốn được sử dụng trong hầu hết các thiết bị cao cấp của Xiaomi trong nhiều năm qua.
Đồng thời, Xiaomi và Qualcomm đã công bố thỏa thuận “đa năm” để tiếp tục sử dụng chip Snapdragon trong các điện thoại thông minh của hãng. Thỏa thuận này đảm bảo các thiết bị cao cấp của Xiaomi sẽ tiếp tục được trang bị dòng chip Snapdragon 8-series, bao gồm cả chip Snapdragon 8-series thế hệ mới dự kiến ra mắt vào tháng 9 năm nay, theo thông báo từ Qualcomm. Thỏa thuận không loại trừ việc Xiaomi sử dụng chip XRING 01, cho thấy hãng sẽ linh hoạt kết hợp cả hai loại chip trong các sản phẩm tương lai.
Ngoài điện thoại thông minh, Qualcomm cũng sẽ hợp tác với Xiaomi trên nhiều thiết bị khác như ô tô, kính AR/VR, thiết bị đeo và máy tính bảng, mở rộng phạm vi hợp tác giữa hai công ty.
